How to play Werewolf online
Werewolf roles
Hunt by night, hide by day. Wolves see each other and pick a victim together in silence.
Each night, divine whether one player is a Werewolf. Your visions win games โ if you live to share them.
Shield one player from the wolves each night. Yes, you can shield yourself.
No powers, just your wits. Watch, listen, and vote out the liars.
One silver arrow, once per game. Shoot the wrong person and the village suffers.

Frequently asked questions
Is Werewolf the same game as Mafia?
Yes โ Werewolf is the folk-tale skin of the same social deduction game. Mafia was invented in 1986; Werewolf re-themed it with wolves and villagers in 1997. Werewolf Night plays the identical rules with Werewolves instead of Mafia, a Seer instead of a Detective, and a Healer instead of a Doctor. Prefer the classic? Play it as Mafia.
How many players do you need for Werewolf?
4 to 16 players. The sweet spot is 6โ10: enough suspects to sow doubt, few enough that everyone gets heard. The app balances the number of Werewolves to your group size automatically.
Do we need a narrator or moderator?
No โ that's the point. In traditional Werewolf one person has to sit out and run the night. Here, each phone privately handles roles, night actions, and votes, so everyone actually plays.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
Completely free, no account, no app install. It runs in your phone's browser. Create a village and share the code โ that's it.
Can we play Werewolf online over video call?
Yes. Share the room link, then talk over any video call. It's designed for same-room play, but a voice channel works fine.
Do I need the Werewolf board game or a deck of cards?
No. Werewolf Night gives you the full werewolf board game experience with nothing to buy, print, or shuffle โ roles are dealt secretly to each phone and the night runs itself. If you do want to play offline, we have a free narrator script and printable role cards.
